Epichem Limited was formed in 1983 to manufacture a range of high purity speciality chemicals and gases used in the electronics, glass and pharmaceutical industries. Epichem is an independent, privately owned company that now employs 130 personnel worldwide. The materials produced include a wide range of metalorganic chemicals, silane and boron trichloride. The company exports throughout Europe, USA and rapidly growing markets in Japan and South East Asia. Epichem has always had a strong research and development bias, contributing to several UK and European research schemes, ensuring that the products offered fulfil current and future customer demands. These products have very high purities and are recognised as being amongst the best available worldwide. Epichem has previously been granted The Queens Award for Technological Achievement jointly with DRA in 1990. In 1996 Epichem was awarded The Queen's Award for Export Achievement. In 2000 Epichem successfully won the Queens Award for Enterprise.
