Taste University life for a few days next summer

The PUPC will be running again in 1999. Bookmark this page.

We are running again our very popular Pre-University Physics Course at Exeter on 6-8 July 1998. It is for students who have done the first year of an A-level physics course and who would like to experience what it is like to be at University.

You will stay in a student Hall of Residence and lectures will be given by members of Staff of the School of Physics. You will have an opportunity to see the Guild of Students and use the sports facilities, including the open-air swimming pool and tennis courts.

The programme includes lectures on:
Ariel photgraph

Particle Physics and the Forces of Nature
Gauging the Cosmos
Quantum Mechanics in the Real World
Musical Instruments - Pipes and Strings
Laser Light's Fantastic
The Electronic Revolution
A Peep Inside the Body

There will be a "Great Egg Race," an open afternoon in the School of Physics and Evening Activities.

The cost including accommodation and meals for the three days is £57.00. For non-residents the course fee is £20.00.

Teachers are most welcome too, and if they accompany five or more students then there is no charge for the teacher.
