SP Hepplestone's Current Research
My current research is concentrated on the theory of phonons in
nanostructures and phononic crystals. Both of these two materials
show new and exciting physics with effects not possible in other
materials. Brief descriptions of my past and present research
projects are available below.
Current areas of research
Physics of phonons
- Lattice dynamics (i.e. study of phonon modes) of phononic crystals
- Phonon lifetimes in nanostructures
- Lattice thermal conductivity of nanostructures
More details are available at our
Research group
web pages.
