Who am I ?

Currently....
I am currently a third year post-grad student in the Physics department, under the supervision of Dr.G.P.Srivastava working on the problem of overlayers on semiconductor surfaces. We use the EKSETER ab initio plane-wave pseudopotential LDA code.

My thesis is entitled: `Theoretical studies of adsorbate covered semiconductor surfaces'. It is mostly involved with group V termination of semiconducting surfaces. I have investigated P, As, Sb and Bi termination of the Si(001) and even looked at the lattice dynamics in the case of the As and Bi termination using Adiabatic Bond-Charge Calculations.

I have also furthered these studies by looking at co-adsorption of group V and Ge on Si(001). These studies are aimed to address the issue of surfactant mediated growth of Ge on Si(001).

As well as Si(001) substrates I have also investigated Bi deposition on the GaSb(110) surface for a number of different geometrical structures.

Previously....
I obtained a first class honours degree in Physics with European study at The University of Exeter. As part of this I spent one year studying Physics at Rennes University in Brittany. During that year I had the opportunity to spend one and a half days a week in the solid state surface research laboratories.
