Dr Stavroula Foteinopoulou
Dr. Stavroula Foteinopoulou received her B.S. degree in Physics from University of Patras, Greece, in 1995, and the M.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY in 1997. She obtained her Ph. D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics with Honors (Research Excellence award) from Iowa State University in December 2003. She subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Solid State Physics of Namur University (FUNDP) in Belgium from 2004-2006 and in the Institute of Electronic Structure and Lasers (IESL-FORTH) in Greece from 2006-2009. She joined the faculty of the School of Physics of University of Exeter as a Lecturer in September of 2009. Her research encompasses the theoretical and computational study of novel light manipulation in metamaterials, photonic crystals and plasmonic nanostructures. She has 14 publications in refereed international journals, which have received more than 1000 SCI citations to date. | |||||||||
