Following the success of the School of Physics in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise we are seeking top-quality academic staff and PhD students to carry out research at critical interdisciplinary interfaces within the Functional Materials theme (which encompasses the Electromagnetic Material Group).
Details of the academic posts are given here.
Please see this web page detailing the admission process for PhD studentships.
We also have EPSRC funding for two further PhD studentships from Spring/Summer 2009. Details of the project "Detailed study of zigzag metal gratings" are here, or please contact Prof. Roy Sambles, or Dr. Alastair Hibbins.
Please send general enquiries concerning the photonics/plasmonics area to Bill Barnes and the magnetics area to Rob Hicken.
