Withdrawal/Interruption Procedures - Radiography

These procedures apply to students on the BSc Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography) programme who need to withdraw, or interrupt their studies.

Interruptions

Students interrupting their studies must:

  1. provide evidence from a qualified practitioner if the interuption is on physical or mental health grounds;
  2. obtain the appropriate forms from the Student Services office;
  3. meet with their tutor or Stage Co-ordinator who will attach a written statement to the interruption form (see below) explaining the reason for the interruption;
  4. meet with the Programme Coordinator;
  5. forward the completed form to the Student Services office.

On receipt of the interruption form, the Student Services office will arrange for its approval and signature by the Head of Medical Imaging (or their deputy) and will notify by email:

  1. the Head of Radiography Education;
  2. the University's Principal Medical Officer in the Student Health Centre.

Withdrawals

Students withdrawing from the programme must:

  1. obtain the appropriate forms from the Student Services office;
  2. meet with their tutor or Stage Co-ordinator who will attach a written statement to the withdrawal form (see below) explaining the reason for the withdrawal;
  3. meet with the Programme Coordinator;
  4. forward the completed form to the Student Services office.

On receipt of the withdrawal form, the Student Services office will arrange for its approval and signature by the Head of Medical Imaging (or their deputy) and will notify by email:

  1. the University's Principal Medical Officer in the Student Health Centre.

The applicable forms are:

All withdrawal and interrupt forms must be signed by the Head of Imaging or their Deputy.

Copies of all forms should be stapled together (University withdrawal or interruption form on the front) and filed on the FRONT of the student's file.
