Clinical Placement Induction Processes - Checklist
Placement providers use several approaches to student
induction (e.g. face-to-face briefings, self-directed
information gathering, or written documentation). This checklist
is for the guidance of Link Radiographers, and others with
responsibility for student induction within our partner placement
providers, in order to ensure that all students receive the same
basic set of essential information during the induction process.
Students should receive the following information within their
induction process at the placement site. The list is not
exhaustive, placement staff should include additional
departmental-specific topics as they deem appropriate.

- Including emergency numbers (i.e. fire, cardiac call, security)
- How to dial-in from outside the hospital
- Hospital Accommodation
- Available Facilities e.g.
- Canteen / restaurant
- Social club
- Sports facilities
- Car-parking
- Staff room (access, availability, tea and coffee fund)
- Photocopying facilities (for clinical assessment forms, etc.)
- Availability of Support Services e.g.

the duration of the placement but it is expected that students will be made aware
